Open Alpha is Now Live!
- Details
We are officially opening the REGIMENT Open Alpha for public playtesting!
This is a critical phase in the game’s development, and your participation is the key to refining the experience. Whether you are running missions on your physical tabletop or deploying via our Tabletop Simulator module, your frontline data is exactly what we need to ensure the final ruleset is as balanced and engaging as possible.
Rules and Reference
Print and Play Materials
Tools and Digital Play
Our Playtest Objectives
During this phase, we are looking for specific feedback in the following tactical areas:
-
Game Balance & Point Values: How do things feel on the table? Are units and leaders fun and interesting to play? Are certain missions or support cards providing an unfair advantage, or are they effectively driving the gameplay?
-
Rules Clarity & Onboarding: Are the rules intuitive? We want to know where the friction points are—specifically how easy it was for you to "pick up and play" your first game.
-
Tactical Pacing: How quickly does the game resolve? We are monitoring the flow of activation and combat to ensure the game remains snappy without losing its tactical depth.
-
Future Development: Would would you like to see? We are actively seeking suggestions for future leaders, units, missions, and support card abilities to expand the roster.
How to Report In
A dedicated Playtest Section has been established on the Community Forums. Please head there to submit your After-Action Reports (AARs), bug reports, or general impressions.
Thank you for joining the REGIMENT community and helping us build this game from the ground up!
Welcome to the Regiment Website
- Details
Welcome to the official home page of REGIMENT. We are thrilled to have you join us during this exciting initial Open Alpha phase.
As you explore the site, you will notice that the layout and design are quite streamlined. To be perfectly transparent: I am a game designer and hobbyist first, and a web developer a distant second! This site was built relatively quickly with a "function over form" philosophy. My primary goal was to get these essential tools into your hands as fast as possible so we can begin testing and growing the game together.
While the interface may be simple for now, the site is fully operational and houses everything you need to start your command:
-
Development Blog: This is your primary source for official news, updates, and tutorials. Check back often to see how the game is evolving and to learn new tips for 6mm hobbying.
-
Community Forums: A wargame is only as strong as its community. Our forums are a centralized space for you to discuss rules, share your latest paint jobs, brainstorm strategies, or find opponents for a game.
-
Regiment Wiki: It contains a comprehensive repository of core rules, unit data, and keyword definitions that will be updated in real-time as development progresses.
-
Vendor Directory: This page contains a comprehensive directory to help you find a wide variety of both free and paid game components including STL files for 3D printing, physical miniature vendors and more.
- Army Builder: Our most critical tool. The web-based builder ensures your forces are legal and ready for deployment, allowing you to export your lists for both physical tabletop play and our digital TTS module.
I will be working behind the scenes to enhance the visuals and user experience of this platform as time allows. In the meantime, I truly appreciate your patience and your participation in this journey.
Thank you for being part of the Regiment community. I look forward to seeing your forces on the table!
Regiment Army Builder
- Details
The REGIMENT Army Builder is the central web-based tool for force organization and army list creation. It is designed to ensure legal unit composition and facilitate the export of data for both physical and digital play.
1. Force Construction Workflow
To build a legal list for the Regiment Open Alpha, follow these steps in sequence:
-
Select Faction: Choose your army's faction from the primary menu or top dropdown menu to load the relevant unit rosters.
-
Define Point Limit: Input the maximum points allowed for the engagement. Below are two examples commonly used for Regiment games.
-
500 Points: Recommended for learning games and small skirmishes.
-
1000 Points: The standard game size for normal play.
-
-
Assign Army Leader: Every army requires one designated Leader. Note that Leaders must be attached to a valid unit; the builder will highlight restriction requirements (e.g., "Must be attached to Infantry").
-
Select Units: Populate your list with units. The builder automatically tracks Percentage-Based Caps (Min/Max limits) for each unit type to ensure the force remains within faction-specific organizational constraints.
-
Select Cards: Finalize your force by choosing your Mission and Support cards.
