Regiment

REGIMENT is a free, print-and-play tabletop wargame focusing on vast combined-arms battles using epic-scale miniatures. Build your army, command your forces, and recreate epic conflicts across the galaxy.

To facilitate remote playtesting and increase accessibility for players without physical 6mm collections, a dedicated Tabletop Simulator (TTS) module has been developed. This module serves as the primary digital environment for the REGIMENT Open Alpha and further play.

You can find the mod at this link: https://regiment.info/tts-mod

1. Initial Setup and Help

Upon launching the mod, an automated Introductory Help Popup will appear. This overlay provides a baseline orientation of the table layout and key scripted features.

  • Note: If you close this popup and need to reference it later, use the Help button located at the bottom of the right-hand sidebar menu, represented by a "?" question mark.

2. The Army Importer System

The module is designed to work in tandem with the Regiment Army Builder. Currently, this is the only method for spawning game assets into the mod.

Workflow:

  1. Build: Construct your force using the web-based Army Builder.

  2. Export: Select the "TTS Code" option to copy the serialized army data to your clipboard.

  3. Launch: In TTS, open the sidebar menu on the right side of the screen.

  4. Import: Click the Army Importer button (top of the menu), paste your code into the text field and press the green "Spawn" button at the bottom.

  5. Spawn: The script will automatically generate all miniatures, unit cards, and required components at your player position. Make sure you are seated in the Blue or Red player seat.

3. Environment Customization

The right sidebar menu contains a suite of tools for modifying the play environment to match your chosen scenario:

  • Terrain Textures: Toggle between Grass, Sand, and Snow surface textures to suit the mission's narrative setting.

  • Table Dimensions: Adjust the physical table size to either 3’ x 3’ (Skirmish) or 6’ x 3’ (Standard).

  • Grid Overlays: Enable or disable a tactical grid for precise measurement and placement of various assets.

4. Unit UI Scripting vs. Physical Tokens

The module features a custom Unit UI script designed to streamline bookkeeping at the 6mm scale.

  • Improved Tracking: When enabled, units feature an integrated UI for tracking Wounds and Shaken status directly on the model's base.

  • Token Mode: For players who prefer traditional physical tracking or wish to reduce script overhead, the Unit UI can be toggled OFF via the sidebar. In this mode, players should use the physical status tokens provided in the component bags.

5. Development Roadmap

The TTS module is currently in an active development phase. Future updates will include:

  • Standalone Spawner: A dedicated menu to spawn individual units or components without requiring an external builder code.

  • Homebrew Support: Integration for custom-defined unit stats and community-created assets.

  • Video Tutorials: An upcoming video guide detailing advanced scripting features and table controls.

6. Support and Matchmaking

Technical support and community games are hosted across the following platforms:
